BUT SO WHAT IF I SIMPLY SHOOT?
Tuesday, July 27, 2004
Sand burning toes off my feet
But no, I ain’t fire walkin’
Sun beating down on my face
But strangely, it ain’t scorchin’
Wind’s crazy, waves kicking up
But weirdly, it ain’t stormin’
Behind my shades, a sight to behold
But hey, I ain’t dreamin’!
A brunette is what I see
No telling if it’s the natural colour
A little petite for a Kiwi
Her name’s not that small, however
Heard her last name is Hewwitt
Maybe Jennifer’s her cousin or somethin’
She’s got that crescent eyes of hers
That dances when a smile is comin’
How she does that, nobody knows
Guessing is more like a game
This one I’m sure of, one thing I know
That Andrea was her name
Experienced she is, on the surf
Reckless as the waves, that give no rest
How does she do that with the board
When most people are in distress?
How she does that, nobody knows
Guessing is more like a game
But besides knowing what she can do
I know that Andrea was her name
You don’t hear her voice much
Anybody’s guess if she’s shy
She don’t talk much, even as an instructor
It’s rare to hear her reply
What’s her voice like, nobody knows
Guessing is more like a game
At least I know how her name sounds
Andrea was her name
Her age is a couple more than a score
That is a fact, it ain’t no lie
May be engaged already, for all you know
At this young age, who knows why?
Is she taken, or gonna be soon
Guessing is more like a game
Even if her last name changes
I know Andrea was her name.
Who knows what else can be discovered
There is just something about her
That just intrigues, simply mystifies
Something that makes you wonder
The more I wonder, the more I imagine
It’s turning into a game
It seems like I know nothing more
Save Andrea was her name
I wonder who she is
Her thoughts, and where she’s going
I’ve only seen her under the sun
There must be more than what she’s showing
Who is she, nobody knows
Guessing can drive you insane
But I’m glad at least there’s something I know
That Andrea was her name
Maybe that’s how some things are meant to be
Just to be seen from afar
To be wondered about and dreamt about
Let imagination take you far
How is she like in closer proximity?
Guessing is more like a game
Besides the fact that she was a beauty
Andrea was her name
So keep it there, a good, safe distance
Retain it in perfection, like poetry in play
Don’t risk it or mess it, don’t ever spoil it
It may be much better off that way
What if you know more of the person?
Guessing is more like a game
It may be good just knowing for certain
That Andrea was her name
Yeah, I don’t know anything about her
For her, it is probably the same
There’s nothing I can tell anyone about her
Except that Andrea was her name
But no, I ain’t fire walkin’
Sun beating down on my face
But strangely, it ain’t scorchin’
Wind’s crazy, waves kicking up
