10 reasons why you shouldn’t have boyfriends who are 10 years older than you:

1. He is 10 years older lah! That’s one reason in itself.

2. During your wedding dinner, they will probably play powerpoint presentations of your childhood pictures. When they show pictures of him graduating in his twenties, they will show pictures you doing your UPSR.

3. He is an unethical business man, bad chemist, and lousy biologist. By going out with younger girls, he is spoiling the market, disrupting equilibrium, and threatening balance in the BGR ecosystem. What will happen to the younger guys then?

4. He is going to get old and sick 10 years faster than you do, and you have to take care of him for the big part of your remaining married life.

5. When men get old and hit a certain age, they will get an old man’s disease. When the time comes, he will start getting unexplainably grumpy, and behave as though he works in a mortuary. Although this disease does not have a name, its existence is very widespread, and no male can run away from it. When the time comes, it comes. And you will wonder why you have to put up with this at such a young age.

6. You are looking for a father figure, and a father figure is who he will be. You will find it hard to achieve equality.

7. You will never win arguments. When you fight, he will start to talk like a father. With fatherly authority, fatherly advice, fatherly logic, and fatherly chastening. How will you win fights that way?

8. With his age and experience, he will be able to lie and cheat without you knowing. You will probably trust an older guy a lot. Remember, he is 10 years older, 10 years wiser, 10 years smarter, and 10 years more experienced. As the saying goes, he’s “eaten more salt that you have eaten rice”. Maybe has a “colourful history” in his past. Maybe he secretly keeps a few young women to himself. Maybe he has dumped an older woman to get a younger, newer model like you. Or maybe he dumps them whenever they get old, and replaces them with younger ones. How will you keep him in check?

9. Some say some older guys may have a mentality of young men, so they can fit younger women. Well, if that’s the case, why not go for younger men who are mature beyond their age?
